Founded in 2021, Boots On The Ground South Wales Ltd began as a small, sole-trader garden maintenance business. Through consistent hard work, high standards of workmanship, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the company has grown steadily into a trusted landscaping and outdoor services provider across South Wales.
Today, we carry out a wide range of landscaping, garden improvement and outdoor construction projects, from single-day maintenance work to full garden transformations. Every project - regardless of size - is approached with professionalism, clear communication, and a genuine passion for creating outdoor spaces that are both functional and visually impressive.
Meet James
Founder and Former Royal Marine.
James joined the Royal Marines Commandos in 2010, serving as a Point Man with D Coy, 40 Commando on Operation Herrick before specialising as a driver and later training as a vehicle mechanic. His military career took him on multiple deployments and exercises around the world.
He left the Marines in 2019 to start a family and, after finding corporate work unfulfilling, decided to build something of his own.
In 2021, Boots On The Ground South Wales was created.
The values shaped during James’ service - reliability, precision, teamwork and pride in every task - now form the foundation of the business and guide every project from start to finish.
Meet Mali
Mali is a director of Boots on the Ground South Wales and is often the first point of contact for customers. She leads the office, customer communication, quotations, scheduling, finance administration and marketing.
Working behind the scenes, Mali keeps projects organised and ensures customers receive clear, consistent communication from their initial enquiry through to completion.
She works closely with James to coordinate each project, manage the practical details and make the whole process as straightforward as possible for both customers and the team.
As part of the family-run business, Mali is passionate about providing a friendly, personal service and making sure every customer feels informed and looked after throughout their project.
